International Social for Young Researchers will be organized during Neuro2010 (Joint Conference of The 33rd Annual Meeting of the Japan Neuroscience Society, the 53rd Annual Meeting of Japanese Society for Neurochemistry, and the 20th Annual Meeting of Japanese Neural Network Society) to promote active interactions among international young researchers who share common scientific interests.

Research Communication
Venue: Nichii Gakkan Kobe Port Island Center 【 >>> MAP

Capacity: about 300 researchers
Fee: free

poster session (the main conference hall)
(Poster presentations by about 40 Neuro2010 Travel Award awardees and about 40 domestic awardees of housing support)
【19:00〜】
buffet (restaurant)

A poster session including self-introduction and buffet will be held to promote active interactions among researchers.
 
 
2)
Free communication space
During the whole period of Neuro2010 (9/1-9/4), two conference rooms are available for 24 hours for the participants to the social. In the rooms, eating and drinking are allowed. Make good use of this opportunity to foster intellectual exchange among attendees and to deepen friendship! Let’s have fun together!
 
 
3)
Housing support for attendees for International Social for Young Researchers
To promote and maintain interactions among young researchers who attend International Social for Young Researchers, housing support will be awarded to stay at Nichii Gakkan during Neuro2010 for free.
  【 Eligibility 】
 
About 40 foreign (non-Japanese) attendees for International Social for Young Researchers. This includes Travel Award awardees. (August 31 − September 5(check-out), 5 nights)
 



About 40 domestic attendees for International Social for Young Researchers. (September 1 - 4(check-out), 3 nights)
Graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and assistant professors who have held their positions for less than 5 years (Nationality or affiliated society is not considered. Young researchers who come back temporarily to Japan from abroad are also eligible).
  【 Hotel facilities and services 】
 
Single, single-barrier-free (6 rooms) or twin-barrier-free (6 rooms) guest rooms (Request special requirements when submitting an application.)
 
Bath, air conditioner, TV, internet access (Bring your own LAN cable.)
 
Washing machine and iron
 


Breakfasts are served during the stay. However, no lunches and dinners are provided except the buffet on September 1.
 


During Neuro2010, 2 conference rooms equipped with a projector will be available for 24 hours (where you can eat and drink). These rooms will be open to any attendees for International Social for Young Researchers to discuss, practice presentations, and communicate with each other.

Nichii Gakkan Port Island Center is located with very convenient access to the Kobe Convention Center, which takes approximately 10 minutes by monorail (one station away from Kobe Convention Center). It is in a very quiet and relaxed environment, and also there is a theme park ‘Kachoen’ for flowers and birds nearby where it is located in 5-minute’s walking distance

1) Researchers who attend the Sep 1 social only (about 200 researchers)
2) Researchers who attend the Sep 1 social with housing support (September 1 - 4 (3 nights) about 40 researchers)
 
 
 
1)
Must be either graduate students, postdoctoral fellows or assistant professors who have held their positions for less than 5 years. (Nationality or affiliated society is not considered. Young researchers who come back temporarily to Japan from abroad are also eligible
2) All should submit at least one abstract for Neuro2010.
 
 
 
Applicants must submit 1 set of the following documents ① - ④ to Neuro2010 Secretariat by E-mail ( neuro2010-young@ics-inc.co.jp ) Awardees will be notified 2 months prior to Neuro2010.

Deadline is May 31. Awardees (International Social for Young Researchers (about 200 researchers) and housing support (about 40 researchers)) will be announced by Email and on the Neuro2010 website (as name list). Foreign (non-Japanese) awardees for housing support must submit a copy of his / her passport even if they live in Japan. Otherwise, they may not stay at Nichii Gakkan.
